मैं कुछ चीज़ें होने के लिए इंतज़ार करती हूँ, 

न जाने कब और कैसे वो पूरी कर लूँ, 

इस बात की ख़बर तो मुझे नहीं है,

 मगर मैं दिल से ख़ुदा से मन्नत माँगती हूँ,

जो भी सपने मैंने देखे हैं,

वो सब कुछ सच हो जाए।

Life is perfect,

I wait for some things to happen,

Don't know when and how to get it done,

Finish this thing so I don't have,

But I heartily ask for a vow to God,

आज जो मैं एक इंसान बन रही हूँ, 

उस बात पर मैं बहुत ख़ुश हूँ 

मैं अपने आप को रोकना नहीं चाहती हूँ,

 मैं बस उसी पल के लिए इंतज़ार करती हूँ 

जो मैं अपनी सारे सपने पूरे कर पाऊँ,

 मैं अपनी मंज़िल को पार करना चाहती हूँ।

अनजाने में कहीं एक अल्फ़ाज़ आने लगता है, 

तो मेरी दोस्ती क़लम की बाँसुरी से होने लगती है 

बस एक काग़ज़ लेकर उसमें लिपटने की कोशिश करते है,

मेरी दिल में जो एहसास है। 

वो शब्दों के ज़रिए उसमें भर लेते हैं

 तब अनजाने में कहीं अपने आप को एक सवाल पूछने लगती है।

मैं कब से इस पल का इंतज़ार करती हूँ?

जो मैं एक बहुत अच्छी लेखिका बनना चाहती हूँ, 

मैं एक दिन अपनी कविताओं को आवाज़ देना चाहती हूँ, 

मैं अपने सपने के लिए कुछ अलग सी चीज़ें करना चाहती हूँ, 

मैं इस दुनिया से अपनी राज़ी ताक़त के बारे में बताना चाहती हूँ,

मैं 'एक दिन दिल से उसके बारे में एक सुरीला गाना बनना चाहती हूँ,

न जाने कितने सपने है, इस छोटे से दिल में जिन्हें लेकर घूम रही है

मैं आशा करता हूँ कि वो सब कुछ सच हो जाए।

तब अंधेरे में बहुत सारे चमकते हुए सितारे को नज़र आते है

 तब मैं एक सितारे से अपनी ख़्वाहिशें बता लेती हूँ, 

मैं एक दिन एक ख़ास इंसान से मुलाक़ात करना चाहती हूँ, 

जो सच में इस लड़की के हर मोड़ को देखा है। 

मुझे पहले किसी के सामने कमज़ोर होने में बहुत डर लगता था, मगर न जाने कब उससे में सब कुछ कहने लगी,

मैं ख़ुद ही एक बेहतरीन इंसान बनने लगी, 

वो मेरी ज़िंदगी की राज़ी ताक़त है,

उसके बिना ये लेखिका भी अधूरी है, 

ज़िंदगी में मैं बस उसे एक बार देखना चाहती हूँ,

 मैं बस उसी पल का इंतज़ार करती हूँ।

 मैं बस उसी घड़ी का इंतज़ार करती हूँ,

 मैं उसी पल में खोना चाहती हूँ

 वही गाना चिलाके गाना चाहती है। 

तब न कोई आस होगी,

बस ये दिल के धड़कन ख़ुशी से शोर मचाती होगी

 तब आँखें बंद करते ही,

कानों में एक सुरीले आवाज़ सुनती होगी

 तब मैं अपनी आँसू को रोक नहीं पाऊँगी

 जिंदगी में बस ये सारी ख्वाहिशें मुझे पूरी करनी है

मैं बस उसी पल का इंतज़ार करती हैं।

आज भी बहुत अल्फाज़ लिखने के लिए बाकी हैं, 

 आज भी बहुत जज्बात बोलने के लिए बाकी है, 

आज भी मेरी अध्यापिका को अपनी लिखी हुई किताब देना बाकी है,

 आज भी अपने खास शख्स को किताब देना बाकी है, 

मैं ख़ुदा से बस यही दुआ मांगती हूँ, 

एक दिन ये सारी सपने सच हो जाए, 

यही तो मेरी जीने की वजह है,

 मैं बस उसी पल का इंतज़ार करती हूँ ।।
