 ना लौटने वाले का क्यूँ इंतज़ार नहीं जाता। 

जानती हूँ सब फिर भी क्यूँ ! करार नहीं आता।

 रिसने लगे हैं जखम नासुर की तरह 

दर्द इस दिल का अब, सहा नहीं जाता। 

ढूंढती हूँ तुझको चादर की सलवटों में, 

क्यूँ, तेरी खुशबू का अहसास नहीं जाता।

 खड़ी हूँ, आज भी तेरी राह में, 

भूल कर अपनी मंज़िलों के निशां। 

तेरी बेवफाई पर क्यूँ, आज भी यकिन नहीं आता। 

चाहती हूँ, लौटना पर क़दम नहीं उठते ।

 दिल मेरा, मेरे दिल को क्यूँ नहीं समझाता, 

ए काश समझ पाऊँ, मैं क़िस्मत के इशारे को ।

 मेरी हाथों की लकीरों में, तेरा नाम नहीं आता 

जा, तू लौट ना पुकारूंगी मैं तुझको उम्र भर,
